2. Add flooring to your attic

Adding an extra layer will keep the space warmer in the winter, especially if you live somewhere with harsh winters. To give it a polished look, you can add flooring like all-purpose or linoleum. According to experts, hard flooring (laminate or vinyl) is the best choice for good isolation. When installed over a rug, this type of flooring can easily soften the sounds.

3. Maximize the space in your attic with white

Even if most people tend to avoid painting their walls pure white, it might be the best choice for the attic. White walls give the impression of bigger spaces, which will make your attic feel more open and bright. Don’t be afraid to go beyond the walls and ceiling too, as white flooring and a couple of fluffy rugs will make nice additions to the whole design.

Because you won’t spend every day in your attic, the chances of getting the floor dirty are pretty low, so you should not fear the white getting dirty. If you want to avoid having a crowded and dark attic, don’t hesitate to choose white or any other pastel color (e.g., pink or light yellow) for the walls. You can also add white furniture to complete the look of the room.

Tip: Brown wood tables or chairs are going to look very pretty too! Just go with the flow because, after all, you’re going to use this space for relaxation, so it has to be comfortable and appealing to the eye.
