The 5 types of personalities
You have probably heard of a lot of personality types that have been circulating all over the internet and in psychology circles for years now. However, the ones that we are going to be focusing on today are known as “the Big Five,” which psychologists use to help people gain a better understanding of the core traits that make up their personalities.
These are not exact groups, but rather a way in which you can relate to others by using them as a reference in order to have an easier time understanding yourself as well as others around you, alongside their attitude, behavior, and the way in which they think, see the world, and even operate on a daily basis. The five types of personality and their traits include:
- Agreeableness: comforting, easy to cooperate with, empathic, kind, trustworthy, and affectionate;
- Neuroticism: overthinkers, cannot relax easily, can be moody;
- Extraversion: a people person who is assertive, loves to be around other people and make new acquaintances and friends, is outgoing, talkative, loves being the center of attention, and is expressive with their emotions;
- Openness: creative, risk-takers, eager to try new things and have new experiences, extremely imaginative, adventurous, and having a high level of curiosity about the world;
- Conscientiousness: goal-oriented, careful about all details around them, thoughtful, can easily suppress their impulses.
