5. Put Up A Fake Home Security Sign

If you don’t have security cameras installed outside or inside your house, you can still keep your property secure. Strangers don’t need to know that you don’t have security cameras. In fact, you should act like you do have house surveillance.

Put up fake signs that say something like, “protected by electronic alarm system,” “you are being watched,” or “protected by home security system.” Place the signs in your yard, ensuring they are in sight.

Will a burglar call your bluff? They may, but it’s unlikely. They will probably look for another house without home security. Strange as it may seem, many burglaries are spontaneous, and most intruders prefer to skip a property instead of taking their chances.
