1. He’s Not Providing You With a Written Estimate
You searched for a local plumber on the Internet and asked for a home inspection over the phone. He says he has checked the issue and will let you know the price, but he insists on working immediately. You agree as it’s in your interest to get the issue fixed, but you still ask for an estimate.
There’s a good chance the actual price your plumber would ask for after his job is done would be far more than the estimate. And because you never saw a written estimate coming from him, you have no way of knowing what went wrong until you realize that the whole thing was just a scam to trick you into paying more!
