1. Unpleasant Smell
A musty odor in your house is the first indicator of a cockroach infestation. In fact, the more pests, the more serious the smell and the damage.
The bad odor comes from the pheromones left behind in their droppings, which are basically their way of communicating with each other. There are different cockroach species, and their odors can vary at times.
What’s even worse is that the unpleasant smell can fill the room, especially the kitchen, and affect the taste of the food. The odor will also threaten your indoor air quality, probably resulting in breathing issues for you and your family.
There are some things you should do immediately after you spot a cockroach in your house. Clean every room to get rid of all the droppings and dead bodies that may be causing the odor. Starting at the highest spots of your house and working your way down, vacuum up any traces of pests that you come across. Once you do that, seal the bag and throw it away. Make sure you also open your house’s windows to allow fresh air to enter.
