Peeling Wallpaper Or Bubbling Paint
A lesser-known visible sign of moisture and mold in the walls of your home is wallpaper that’s lifting or peeling and bubbling or peeling paint.
This happens due to the trapped moisture between the wallpaper or paint and your wall, making the wallpaper and paint peel away or bubble, which looks like tiny bubbles in the paintwork.
In many homes, bubbling or peeling paint is typical in rooms that have a lot of moisture in the air and walls, including the kitchens and bathrooms. It’s not always a sign of dampness, but you may want to keep an eye on it just to be sure.
It’s also most likely wet if the drywall flakes away, is mushy, or indents when you touch it. Just remember that if the wall is moist, it will most likely have mold, too.
