Fiddle Leaf Fig Plant a.k.a. Ficus Lyrata
This popular plant is native to the beautiful tropical regions of Africa. And even though it’s usually considered a houseplant, you can plant it outside. That being said, it needs wet and warm conditions.
Partial shade and well-draining soil work best for this big-leaf outdoor plant. Most people have the most luck with it when they keep the Fiddle Leaf inside a pot, even if it’s kept outdoors.
Rodgersia a.k.a. Rodgersia Aesculifolia
This attractive perennial belongs to the Saxifrage family. Its leathery, large, palmate leaves bring a tropical jungle feeling to your garden. Growing about 3 to 5 feet tall and wide, Rodgersia’s aromatic blooms in creamy white to pink will greet you in late summer.
They thrive in climate zones 5 to 7, and the Rodgersia loves full sun to partial shade in moist to wet soils.
