1. Bittersweets
There are three “bittersweet” species, and it’s important to distinguish between them: bittersweet nightshade (Solanum dulcamara), oriental bittersweet (Celastrus orbiculatus), and American bittersweet (Celastrus scandens). You should definitely keep an eye out for the Oriental bittersweet vine.
According to experts, this particular species can be found on most lists of the worst invasive plants in North America, and they advise keeping it at bay as it can really damage your garden. The other two species can also be considered invasive, but they don’t cause as much damage as the Oriental bittersweet.
American bittersweet is the one with lovely orange or red berries that can often be seen in decorative displays.
