10 Plants You Can Easily Grow in a Wet Environment:

In case you have a low-lying area in your yard that is always collecting rain, there’s a very easy solution to this: you can use space to grow the specific plants that would only thrive in wet areas. The proper plants will easily absorb all that moisture and prevent runoff into certain areas in your yard.

Also, remember that simple gardening will always be much better and cheaper than earth-moving solutions, like installing a dry creek bed, a French drain, or even a landscape pond. Lots of native and naturalized plants have evolved in time to grow also in wet soils, so there are many effective landscaping solutions for these areas.
