3. Downy mildew

One of the most common diseases is Downy mildew, a fungal disease caused by the lower fungus Peronospora. The causative agent of the disease can persist in plant residues, and seeds, and become active in wet conditions – during rains or simply in humid weather.

The treatment for downy mildew is carried out with a sulfur solution – 50-80 g of the substance is dissolved in 10 liters of water, and the plants and the soil beneath them are treated with this composition. Powdery mildew is also treated with fungicides such as Fitosporin-M, Gamair, or Glokladin, applying them with solutions in a garden or vegetable garden at two-week intervals.

However, the fight against downy mildew is not just about treating plants with medicinal preparations. You can save your site from infection by adhering to agrotechnical conditions for plant cultivation and taking preventive measures against diseases and pests.

Plant protection against Downy mildew starts with preventive measures. You can significantly reduce the risk of fungal diseases affecting your plants by cleaning the area of plant residues in autumn and tilling the soil to a depth of 25-30 cm.
