Stress reliever

When asked about the quality of life, most seniors highlight the importance of good mental health as one of their top three necessities for a happy retirement life. And because gardening is a very mindful activity, it’s also great as a stress reliever.

By occupying your brain with different thoughts and getting your hands dirty, you will take a step back from whatever life is throwing at you and effectively reduce feelings of stress. Retirement can be a challenging shift for many people.

But studies have indicated that gardening can offer the perfect solution! Not only does it provide aging adults with an outlet to improve their enjoyment and reduce stress levels, it also offers special opportunities to keep mentally active as they problem-solve around planting, pruning, or harvesting.
