The 10 Worst Invasive Plants You Should Avoid

6. Ajuga

Here’s another invasive plant that can trick you with its lovely appearance. The mat-forming ajuga (Ajuga reptans), often known as bugleweed, is another popular ground cover that can turn into a sinister enemy.

Because it has charming purple blossoms and can suppress weeds, ajuga is often grown in shady areas as a ground cover. However, as it begins to take over a garden or lawn, many homeowners come to hate it. Unfortunately, this happens only after the plant has caused some damage to the surrounding areas.

Ajuga is especially aggressive in warmer climates where there is no winter frost to kill the plants back each year.
