1. Clean your washing machine regularly

Other items need cleaning besides your clothing, and one of the first hacks to have your laundry and your bed sheets smell great you should perform routine cleaning and maintenance on your washing machine. Why? Well, the accumulation of water, filth, and detergent in washing machines over time and with frequent use can cause them to begin to smell musty.

Experts recommend running a hot, water-only cycle (no clothing) in your washing machine and pouring either 1 quart of bleach or 1-2 cups of white vinegar to help get rid of the smell. Use the ‘Clean Washer’ or ‘Sanitize’ cycle after that if your machine provides such options; if not, use the longest run you can.  Do the cleaning processes and clean your machine’s nooks and crannies thoroughly at least once each month.
