Peace Lily

Toxic Properties: Insoluble calcium oxalates

Symptoms Include: Mucous membrane irritation, intense burning, and irritation of the mouth, making it difficult to swallow.

Characterized by their gorgeous white flowers and dark, glossy leaves, these tropical indoor plants make terrific houseplants. And when they’re correctly cared for, peace lilies can bloom even twice a year, with the flowers lasting a few months at a time.

But, the peace lily is poisonous to both cats and dogs, especially the ‘Mauna Loa’ version. This big cultivar, which can grow up to 2ft, irritates the contacted area and will cause vomiting in animals if eaten.
