Emerald Green Arborvitae (Thuja)

These fast-growing, low-maintenance landscaping trees for privacy maintain bright-green needles, cones that turn a shade of reddish-brown in the autumn, crispy branches, and that famous pyramid shape.

These arborvitae trees are perfect to be used as hedges or, best of all, a privacy screen. We recommend you plant this species in the autumn in moist, quick-draining, neutral to alkaline soil protected from any strong winds.

This tree will thrive in full sun or partial shade in warmer regions of the country. You should water these effortless and fast-growing trees twice a week for the first couple of months and then weekly.

If you notice that the new growth looks weak, feed this low-maintenance landscaping tree some balanced fertilizer, and you’ll be good to go! Just be sure to distribute some compost or mulch at the roots annually.
