Any neighborhood that’s near a wooded area is going to be visited by some deer at some point. Though the habitat of these animals that may invade your backyard has been significantly taken over by urban sprawl, deer seem to be doing just fine adapting.

Fact: Plants, such as tulips, are their favorite snack. That’s one of the reasons why deer are more likely to wander into flower gardens. They, just like you, like what you see, so they get closer.

Sadly, many homeowners believe that the best way to stop deer from invading our neighborhoods is by killing them. Not only is this inhumane, but according to the Humane Society of the US, killing deer as a “solution” is an ineffective and short-term approach at best.

What we should do instead is try to learn how to live with these wonderful creatures. By changing what we plant and grow in our garden, we should have no problem sharing our outdoor spaces with these lovely (and fun to watch) animals.

Keep reading to discover other animals that may invade your backyard. No. 6 can be very dangerous!
