8 Ways to Keep Wild Animals Away From Your Garden

1. Install a fence

One of the easiest ways to keep wild animals away is to install a fence around your garden. That’s going to protect your plants and solve your invaders’ problem, but before you begin, you have to know exactly which pests give you a hard time.

For instance, if your enemies are tiny, such as squirrels, rabbits, and other little garden animals, a short fence is probably more than enough to discourage their mean and destructive plans.

On the other hand, if the wild animals you want to keep away are larger in size, such as deer, you’ll need a fence that’s no less than at least 5 feet tall.

Or you might be annoyed by some little animals that live underground, like gophers and moles, and in that case, the story is different. When you install your fence, you have to dig a trench and then put your fence a couple of feet down with a 3/4-inch chicken wire or hardware cloth to keep those sensitive root vegetables safe.
