6 Best Deer-Resistant Plants for Your Garden

Oregano

Who doesn’t love adding that little bit of fresh oregano into their pasta sauce for a killer Friday night? Not to mention, if you have it planted in your garden, you will also be fending off all those little (deer are quite big) hungry invaders that would just love to feast on all the greens. You get the best of both worlds, in addition to an easy-to-grow plant.

The most common type of oregano, the Greek one, is the one that we are most used to seeing around. The small gray-green leaves that also blossom in summer with their little white or purple flowers are an easy-care plant, as you can even harvest your own starters from a cutting.

You can grow them in planters around your yard or use them as a ground cover that you can harvest and eat! Just keep in mind that cooler climates may just kill your plant, and if you want it to survive over the winter, those planters will need to be kept inside.
