9 Best Indoor Plants to Kill Airborne Viruses and Bacteria

6. Peace Lily

Peace lilies have been found to be quite effective in removing benzene and trichloroethylene from the air. They absorb pollutants as well as airborne viruses and bacteria from the air through their leaves, then transport them to their roots, where the microbes in the soil break down the harmful particles. It’s a kind of magic, isn’t it? So, yes, having peace lilies in your house is definitely a plus.

Not only does the peace lily fight airborne viruses and bacteria, but it also provides a lot of moisture in the air. Purifying the indoor space with peace lilies can be much more effective if the pot’s or container’s soil is exposed to the air. So a great piece of advice would be to trim the lowest leaves for more direct contact between soil and air.
