3. Snake Plant

Snake plants are adaptable, easy to care for, and beautiful. They also happen to be excellent at removing airborne viruses and bacteria.

Also known as Mother-in-Law’s Tongue, this indoor plant truly stood out in the NASA study; while many of the other plants studied in the research only succeeded at eliminating one or two toxins, the snake plant was found to be able to remove four major toxins from the air. So, it’s safe to say that this houseplant is one of the most effective air-purifying plants you can buy. Not to mention how affordable it is.

But that’s not all. Besides its potential to kill airborne viruses and bacteria, the snake plant is also great at reducing allergens. It releases lots of oxygen while moisturizing the air, which neutralizes the impact of airborne allergens like dander and dust. The only downside is that it’s toxic for animals, so you may want to keep it out of your furry friend’s reach.
