8. Use mint

We can say that pests are quite picky when it comes to different types of smells because another thing that they don’t like is mint. They hate its smell and taste, and if you put some mint leaves around your garden, they’re more likely to find another place to have a feast.

The scent is 100% going to discourage them from bad behavior, so if you want to learn how to use this ingredient in your favorite, I’ll give you some tips.

The easiest thing you can do is scatter some mint leaves or tea bags around your garden, but if that’s not strong enough, you can plant a mint border around your beautiful area, or you can take it a step further and plant peppermint along plants that are typically targeted by pests.

Another thing you could try is to get peppermint essential oil and spray it on different surfaces, such as rocks and fencing, which will discourage them from having a party in your garden.

Of course, in order to keep wild animals away you have to try all these tips and see which one works best but don’t forget that it can be more of a trial-and-error process, so don’t get discouraged.
