1. Cosmos

On top of the flower seeds you can still sow in the summer are cosmos. This amazingly colorful plant takes around two or three full months to bloom, and its flowers are three- to five-inch sizes. Cosmos are wonderful additions to a low garden since they have long, thin stems that may be anywhere from one to six feet in length.

Fortunately, this plant requires little care and is quite simple to maintain. It also does well in poor soil as long as the soil drains adequately. Expect no late-autumn blossoms, either, as this plant doesn’t particularly enjoy chilly conditions.
