#3 Random hissing sounds?

There are a lot of reasons why you are hearing hissing sounds around your house, and none of them are a good sign. And no, the probability of you having a snake, while possible in some states, is not that high.

What is more likely is that something happened with the HVAC system in your house that caused a leak in the system. Unfortunately, these leaks can happen anywhere in the system, from the radiator to the compressor and even inside the air ducts! If you suspect the HVAC system is the issue, you should get a professional to fix any air leaks that may be happening, as it could be a bigger issue, and you want to make sure the system is working well.

Yet, if you are using gas around the house, then those hissing sounds may be indicative of a bigger problem, as they could mean a gas leak, and that puts your whole family in grave danger. If you start to smell gas around your home, do not mess with the shutoff unless you truly know what you are doing. Instead, take everyone out and call the gas company and tell them you have a glass leak. They will come and take care of everything for you.
