Heuchera (coral bells)

Mainly grown for its pretty ruffled foliage, this perennial’s mounding habit is to shoot up small flower spikes with small, beautiful flowers all the way from spring to mid-summer. While it does tolerate the smallest amount of sun, its best color usually occurs in shade.

Brunnera (Siberian bugloss)

This perennial grows for its striking foliage and wonderful sprays of tiny blue flowers, which you will see bloom in the spring. It is a very low-maintenance plant, which makes it a great choice if you’re initiating your gardening journey. Also, it goes very well with all types of flower arrangements, so you can have some in your home, too!

Corydalis

Tubular, lightly scented spring flowers protect the finely cut foliage, hanging right above it. Prepare: you might notice the plant dies in the summer, but don’t worry: it sprouts again in the fall.

Bleeding Heart (Dicentra)

This flower has charming sprays of heart-shaped flowers in early summer, which is probably one of the reasons why Dicentra is a must-have. The flowers have a wide variety of colors, ranging from deep red to pink and lime-green to dark green foliage.
